Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)

Summer 2009 REU Participants
Undergraduate Research Opportunities for Georgia Tech Students:
The Center involves undergraduate students in research projects during any semester either for course credit or pay. Interested students are teamed with MRSEC faculty based on program need and student’s interest. Participating students learn about interdisciplinary research while contributing to the goals of their particular project. The research experience also provides a valuable introduction to graduate level research and increases the chances of the participant to be accepted to a graduate program.

Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) for non-GT Students:
The Research Experience for Undergraduates program provides a 10-week paid summer research experience for six students from non-partner U.S. institutions each year. Students work on exciting ongoing Center research projects with the MRSEC faculty mentors and graduate students. Seminars, GRE preparation courses, professional development and graduate school application workshops are organized to maximize the learning experience outside of laboratories. The Research Experience for Undergraduates students are being admitted through the Summer Undergraduate Research in Engineering/Science (SURE) program. More information and on-line application is available at www.sure.gatech.edu.
